چکیده
Abstract Accelerated lakes eutrophication is one of the greatest challenges nowadays. To counteract its negative effects, large-scale restoration treatments are carried out worldwide. However, research in this field mainly focused on process effectiveness and there a scarcity studies concerning impact water organisms ecosystem homeostatsis. Our microcosm study presents effects phosphorus coagulant (iron [III] chloride) functional traits changes, oxidative stress macro- microelement stoichiometry disturbances macrophyte Myriophyllum spicatum , model species inhabiting eutrophic waters. Application to experimental vessels influenced physicochemical optical parameters led significant changes biogeochemistry. Stoichiometric alterations were reflected by relative contents (C, N, P, Ca, Mg) microelements (Fe, Zn, Cu, Co) induced luxury consumption available ions. Physicochemical stoichiometric mutually exerted influence M. traits. The remained at low levels, comparable untreated control whereas analysis revealed activation mechanisms responsible for minimizing light stress. ability maintain homeostasis Cu Co under simulated chemical was closely related high concentrations Fe Zn ions, which simultaneously not subjected control. Thus, lake based coagulants as environmentally safe previously considered may have far-reaching consequences biogeochemical cycle food web functioning.

Iron homeostasis and iron acquisition in plants: maintenance, functions and consequences.
Iron (Fe) is fourth most abundant element in the earth’s crust and is an essential nutrient for almost all organisms. Its solubility and availability are very changeable depending on soil pH and Eh and as a result, iron can be deficient under alkaline and oxidative conditions, whereas it can be present in excess under acidic and submerged conditions: both situations can generate serious nutriti...
متن کاملIron Overload: Causes, Consequences, and Control
The endeavours of physicians taxed with the problem of iron deficiency over the last 100 years have successfully eliminated this as an issue of hematological interest. Iron overload, although by no means a new problem, has drawn much more attention over the last few decades. The development of reliable indicative tests of iron status since the early 1970s has sparked a revolution in our underst...
متن کاملMitochondrial iron transport and homeostasis in plants
Iron (Fe) is an essential nutrient for plants and although the mechanisms controlling iron uptake from the soil are relatively well understood, comparatively little is known about subcellular trafficking of iron in plant cells. Mitochondria represent a significant iron sink within cells, as iron is required for the proper functioning of respiratory chain protein complexes. Mitochondria are a si...
متن کاملIron homeostasis in plants – a brief overview
Iron plays a crucial role in biochemistry and is an essential micronutrient for plants and humans alike. Although plentiful in the Earth's crust it is not usually found in a form readily accessible for plants to use. They must therefore sense and interact with their environment, and have evolved two different molecular strategies to take up iron in the root. Once inside, iron is complexed with ...
متن کاملIron overload in Hepc1(-/-) mice is not impairing glucose homeostasis.
Diabetes Mellitus is found with increasing frequency in iron overload patients with hemochromatosis. In these conditions, the pancreas shows predominant iron overload in acini but also islet beta-cells. We assess glucose homeostasis status in iron-overloaded hepcidin-deficient mice. These mice presented with heavy pancreatic iron deposits but only in the acini. The beta-cell function was found ...
